A federal choose on Thursday issued an order blocking Elon Musk’s Division of Authorities Effectivity from accessing programs on the Social Safety Administration (SSA) that retailer the non-public info of hundreds of thousands of People.

In the Thursday ruling, U.S. District Choose Ellen Hollander in Maryland accused DOGE of being “primarily engaged in a fishing expedition” in quest of fraud primarily based on “little greater than suspicion.” Hollander stated DOGE “by no means recognized or articulated” a cause why it wants entry to the “private and personal information of hundreds of thousands of People.”
