President Donald Trump has prolonged the deadline for the TikTok ban by 75 days. Trump shared a post on Truth Social on Friday stating that he’s signing an govt order to permit for extra time to finalize a deal.

“My Administration has been working very exhausting on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we’ve got made large progress,” Trump wrote. “The Deal requires extra work to make sure all needed approvals are signed, which is why I’m signing an Government Order to maintain TikTok up and working for a further 75 days.

He continued, “We hope to proceed working in Good Religion with China, who I perceive aren’t very glad about our Reciprocal Tariffs (Needed for Honest and Balanced Commerce between China and the usA.!). This proves that Tariffs are essentially the most highly effective Financial software, and crucial to our Nationwide Safety! We don’t want TikTok to ‘go darkish.’ We stay up for working with TikTok and China to shut the Deal. Thanks on your consideration to this matter!”

The ban was beforehand scheduled to enter impact on April 5 after Trump prolonged it by again in January on his first day in workplace.
