YouTube is investigating a bug inflicting low-res movies

YouTube is looking into an issue inflicting “decrease than normal video high quality” on iOS, desktop, and sensible TVs. The platform says the obvious bug might make YouTube movies and shorts stream at 144p or 360p even with a robust web connection.

Over the previous week or so, many users on Reddit have reported having YouTube routinely set their video high quality to low decision. One user notes, “Each video I click on on YouTube the standard routinely units to 144p even when I attempt to manually change it larger, it simply reverts again to 144p.”

Others found that when attempting to change to a better video high quality, the stream will begin buffering. Making an attempt to reset the system, altering the connection, or reinstalling the YouTube app doesn’t appear to assist, both.

Although YouTube at the moment doesn’t have a repair, the corporate says it’s “actively trying into” the problem and can replace its support thread with new data.
